Morning Birds CoverThis week RockOm brings to you new Featured Tracks by L.A.'s The Morning Birds. The trio - made up of Jennifer Thorington (vocals, keys, guitar, bass, drums, tambourine), Samuel Markus (vocals, guitar, bass, drums, harmonica) and Eric Wilkins (drums, harmonica, harmonies) - have a new album out entitled Inspiration Point.  See the home page or click here to listen to the band's songs "Bag Full of Sunshine" and "One Door Land."

Here's some more information about The Morning Birds from the band's BIO:

A new generation has found their poet/muse in the songs and voices of The Morning Birds - truth tellers who articulate the hope buried beneath the despair of the human condition. Their combination of poetic storytelling, raw delivery, and innovative harmony is a testament to the creativity that is abundant in all of us.

In this age of highly packaged artists, The Morning Birds are a breath of fresh air. Not only writing songs that are cut from a different cloth but recording their material with fantastic originality and dynamic range. Taking us back to a time when music wasn't over-produced and streamlined, but real, raw, and rocking.

This is all quite evident from the get go on their debut album Inspiration Point - released July '09. Rag time bleeds into rap, three part harmonies soar across the sound-scape, words soften the heart as drums thunder and roll behind cascading, classical piano lines and jangling guitars.

In a very transparent and intimate manner, Sam, Jenn, and Eric communicate what’s in their hearts and souls and inhabit their music and art with a unique style and message to bring you - The Morning Birds.

The Morning Birds are a three-piece band from L.A. who describe themselves as "a hybrid of musical and spiritual understandings expressed through music, art, and moving images." The band's new 16-song album, Inspiration Point is available on iTunes.

"Bag Full of Sunshine"

"The song was written together while on the road. We wanted to convey the idea of persevering over the obstacles we all create unconsciously and continuously struggle through - while still holding onto faith in yourself, even if it is very faint. Finally coming to the understanding that you have the power to release yourself from the 'little things' and live in love." (The Morning Birds)

"One Door Land"

"'One Door Land' is a call to awakening, as an individual and as society - waking to the understanding that we have been living a life based on beliefs taken on from others, feeling lost and alone in these false understandings, and seeing that they have not created the life we desire. It is our explanation of struggling and helping each other to find a way to release them and create a life based on our clarity in individual truths." (The Morning Birds)
