Seriously, I had the pleasure once, of singing acapella with a large group at a music retreat. There were all kinds and levels of singers and it was SO liberating. The work load was shared, no Marshall stacks to compete for volume with, people just being themselves. It was like being a bg singer in a very large chorus- really cool. (I'm a lead singer; I started to think my secret dream is to be a bg singer. And frankly most bg singers can sing circles around us!) The power that people have when united toward a common purpose was profoundly evident to me that day.
